Nanzen-ji

Hooray! We had seen "Lost in Translation" before but it was on again tonight and we just caught the last half hour or so. It was fun to see places we'd been to in the movie. The best part was finding out the name of one of the shrines we visited in Kyoto, Nanzen-ji. As we had wandered there on our own, minus my mother, it had remained nameless. Beautiful and quite memorable in any case.

Mother

Love this. Mother and Father had gone off on their own around Tokyo, and always game for a fun photo, Mother obligingly posed. The cutout is of a storyteller. The number of cushions is probably mostly to make it easy to photograph, but I think Mother said it also means that this is a very good storyteller indeed.
