Gov't Mule

WOW. Two great nights of Mule at the 930 Club. (Photographs during the performance were verboten so this one is from a show last year in another city.)
the great Warren Haynes

We met great people from near (Frederick) and semi-far (NYC). A shout-out to the guy wearing an ancient t-shirt with Allen Woody's autograph alongside Warren's and Matt Abts'. How cool is that! You can't actually see much of it in this photo, but I swear it's there, clear as day in real life.

The music was amazing, enlivened by the *insert superlative adjective here!* playing of Ron Holloway. The man's talent seems to be channeled from every great saxophonist to come before him, expanded in new directions by his own interpretation and energy.

Truly, every musician on that stage is hugely talented. They never play the same show twice, they play for hours, they're one of the few bands that is even better when you hear them live. Can't wait to see them again.

contraband photo from show, minus musicians.
