Will write more tomorrow as I am fresh out of the onsen and ready for sleep....
But first must say that after 30 years, my mother's visit with her two sisters and brother lasted about six and a half hours. SIX AND A HALF HOURS. After Fusako, Kuniko and Hiko left, I learned that we will not see any of the three again. How is this possible? Very sad.
Well, that's that. Cousin Tsurue will be with us the rest of the week, so we will not be without extensive chatter in a language I don't understand. No doubt I will pick up a few key phrases in the next two days.
More tomorrow. Meantime, love.
p.s. I never did get to introduce myself to the man who did turn out to be Uncle Hiko. He and my cousin and her husband were chatting away, and then finally Mother turned up. At that point, all heck broke loose. In a good way.
