hooray! we arrived safely after a very loooong flight yesterday and are now settled into our hotel in tokyo. technically it is monday here now. we are heading out for our first day of adventure. we hope not to get lost and to see many amazing things. mother and i have already shown a tendency to not have any idea where we are. fortunately, gary and daddy have better directional sense.
for dinner last night we went to an amazing little place that serves food old style. meaning, you cook it at your table. the mini-shrimp were a big hit. we all enjoyed okonomiyaki (japanese pancake type things) and yakisoba (noodles). daddy;s legs fell asleep from sitting at the traditional japanese table.
then we came back to the hotel and dropped off to sleep. unfortunately, some of us didn:t sleep the whole night through. daddy was awake at 3:11 and troy and ian woke up at 3:15 (ian went back to sleep around 6;40). not gary; he slept until 7;30. i was off and on myself. mother woke up when daddy talked to her, she says. he says he only talked to her when he saw her up and walking around the room. the controversy continues.
daddy says hi. mother says love you. gary says hi and we found the starbucks. troy says hi. gale, ian says to tell you to call MC. hi from me too. sorry for the lousy punctuation. this keyboard is a little crazy.
LOVE YOU.

It's good to hear from you. I tracked your flight to within 3 hours of landing - - and then I went to bed. Since you didn't make the morning news, I figured that you landed safely.
Gale came down to go shopping (and eating) with me Sunday. John made steak teriyaki for us. I bought a bottle of sake which he used in the sauce but we did not drink it with our meal. We are with you in spirit, so to speak.
After dropping Gale off in Leesburg, I had two (TWO!) really close, anti-lock brake activating close encounters on Route 15. One was just someone looking the other way while pulling out in front on me while she had a RED light! The other involved a flying wheel with the tire attached. Which way will it bounce? Where will it land? Yipes! It took forever for me to calm down.
It's 8:11 AM here and I enjoyed sleeping late this morning. The fog on the golf course made it quite peaceful (no one yelling "Fore" outside my window. )
Hope that it doesn't take too long for you guys to get in sync with the sleeping and waking.
Love you all,
Take care!
